In November of 2014 Kathleen took her first yoga class at The Yoga Lounge in Winthrop. She immediately fell in love with the practice and yoga became a true passion in her life. Within five weeks after her first class, Kathleen decided to complete her 200 hour teacher training, with Michelle Fleming at Sanctuary Studios in Plymouth, MA.

Kathleen believes that trying is doing, and sometimes less is more.  She teaches her classes from a place of self-love, which she feels is always part of the practice learning to love yourself. Kathleen believes when you find stillness, connect to breathe, and take a moment to look inward. You begin to learn to listen to your body, and that is when the true healing process begins and a journey starts.

Kathleen is a healer at heart, she is also a massage therapist at Root + Sky Wellness and a Reiki Practitioner.

  • Certifications & Accomplishments:  200 hr YTT, certificate in Prenatal Yoga, and Yin Yoga. Workshops from Sanctuary Studios for yoga treating students and clients with addiction, anxiety, depression and trauma. Reiki First Degree at the John Harvey Gray Center for Reiki Healing and Massage Cortiva Institute in Watertown, MA.

    Kathleen is also a two time Boston Marathon Finisher and 4 time Boston Half Marathon Finisher

  • Favorite pose and why:  Warrior 2. When I am in that pose I feel strong and confident, just like in life when things are going great, but just like life, sometimes out of the blue things go in reverse, so my second favorite is Reverse Warrior, because when things don’t go according to plan and life takes a different unexpected turn we have to remember to breathe and not hold our breath even when we feel uncomfortable.  

  • Favorite way to de-stress: Meditate on my mat and childs pose.

  • Favorite essential oil & use: I love them all, but frankincense I use everyday.  I put a drop into my moisturizer on my face before bed and it makes the skin feel great!  

  • What has Ganesh done for you/hope will do for students?  At times when I am practicing in front of him he reminds me that the only obstacles I have are the ones that I put in front of me.  I hope my students see and feel his beauty and wisdom during their practice.

  • When I’m not on the mat or teaching: I am a massage therapist, and I love spending time on the weekends driving in the country up North.
